Ticket price to Longmen Grottoes reduces

From Nov 15 onwards, entrance ticket of Longmen Grottoes scenic area has been adjusted from 120 yuan ($18.8) to 100 yuan per ticket, Henan Provincial Tourism Bureau announced recently. Also starting from the same date to Dec 31, tour groups to the scenic area won’t enjoy any discount, said the bureau.

Currently, Longmen Grottoes scenic area offers free pass for children under 6 or with body height less than 1.4 meters, army men, disabled people and senior residents aged above 70; half price for those aged between 6 to 18, or above 60. It also receives free group visits of students. All will continue as always.

Longmen Grottoes (or Longmen Caves) are located on both banks of the Yihe River, 6 kilometers south of the historic city of Luoyang, central China’s Henan province. They are known at home and abroad for their large numbers, massive scales, variety of subjects, delicate carving and profound meaning.
