Neixiang county celebrates Chinese Cultural Heritage Day

Neixiang county in Nanyang, Henan province, organized colorful activities on June 13 to celebrate the 10th Chinese Cultural Heritage Day.

The activities were jointly sponsored by Neixiang Local Magistrate's Office Museum, Neixiang County Cultural Center and Neixiang County Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center.

Neixiang County Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center invited about 80 performers, who are intangible cultural heritage inheritors and members of residential community intangible cultural heritage performance teams and folk performance organizations, to perform intangible cultural heritage such as yangko (a popular rural folk dance in China), stilts dance, waist drum, drum ballad, bamboo horse dance, land boat and clay sculptures.

A signature campaign was also held to celebrate the cultural heritage day and promote cultural protection. The traditional entertainment programs of Neixiang county gained praise from the present tourists.
