Wenjin Academy renovations in Xinzhou District have begun. At the launching ceremony, provincial leaders unveiled a Confucius statue.

The academy carries historical and cultural heritage for national tourism development.

In accordance with the high standards for construction of 5A-class tourist attractions, Wenjin Academy will be built into a landmark for Xinzhou.

Cooperating with the Xinzhou Daoguan River, the academy will integrate cultural tourism and landscape ecological resources in Huanggang to achieve a win-win situation by designing inter-regional tourist routes.

The academy was founded in the Western Han Dynasty, located between Jiujie Street in Xinzhou District and Linshanhe town of Tuanfeng county.

The name refers to the literary allusions when “Confucius sent Zi Lu to ask for directions.” The Xinzhou District is building an Educational and Cultural Industry Park to include into a cultural tourism zone, educational, cultural and creative industries development zone, and the educational, cultural and leisure resort.

The zone has already been drawn up, which includes an academy (Wenjin Academy), a park (Chinese Wisdom Grand Garden), a street (Antique-Style Architecture Street), a mountain (Confucius Mountain) and a river (Confucius River).
