A launching ceremony for a Mongolian studies center was held at Inner Mongolia University's academic conference center on June 11. The center is expected to gather and cultivate talents in Mongolian research to enhance cooperation and exchanges with that country.

As an integral part of the national strategy of opening to the north and based on Inner Mongolia University's academic edge, the center will lead regional study of Mongolia with an innovative perspective and high-caliber talents to improve both national and regional exchanges with the northern country.

Recent years have seen China and Mongolia developing an overall strategic partnership, with consensus reached for a China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor Initiative interlocking with China's national Belt and Road Initiative and Mongolia's Road of Grasslands policy. The years have also brought deepened communication and cooperation in politics, economic development, culture and education between the two countries. In all of these efforts, the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, as China's north gateway, has played an irreplaceable role and made a remarkable contribution in taking China-Mongolia friendship to a higher level.

Officials from Mongolia's embassy to China, Mongolia's consulate general in Hohhot, and the Inner Mongolia government attended the ceremony, as did more than 100 experts and scholars from China's Mongolia research association, the Inner Mongolia development research center, Inner Mongolia Shiji'anda group Co, Inner Mongolia Normal University, Inner Mongolia University, and other pertinent institutions.

Project demonstrates success in Inner Mongolia

Journalists from 58 web media companies around China visited Inner Mongolian villages between July 3 and July 8 to learn about the effect the “Ten Coverages” project has had after two years of implementation.
