The Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association released the results of a study on the investment environment and risks of the Chinese mainland in 2013.

The research results were revealed on Aug 26. Fortunately, Kunshan city was included in the research as a recommended city. It is the fifth time Kunshan has been recommended. Kunshan has optimized its investment environment and consolidated development advantages despite many challenges.

As a city with many Taiwan businesspeople, Kunshan city works hard in promoting cultural and tourist development. Currently, Kunshan is engaged in building a Taiwan-featured city on the Chinese mainland to accommodate Taiwan businesspeople. Kunshan also has developmental advantages, including a responsible government, advanced technologies and strong initiative.

Kunshan attracts massive investments through cooperation and favorable policies. In February this year, the State Council approved construction of a trial area in Kunshan to deepen cooperation with Taiwan, especially cooperation in economic areas. The new policy brings more developmental opportunities to both Kunshan and Taiwan. It even bridges a broader platform for cooperation and cultural exchange between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.

The Kunshan Taiwan Business Association (KSTBA) said that Taiwan also launched a research project on the investment environment and risks of the Chinese mainland. The outcome will help influence Taiwan investors. Kunshan ranks first in city comprehensive capacity. The association added that Kunshan has played a prominent role in enhancing cultural and economic exchanges with Taiwan.

There are 10 cities on the investment environment and risk research list, including Chengdu in Sichuan province, Chongqing municipality, and Xiaoshan district in Hangzhou city of Zhejiang province.
