The city has also focused on providing a solid platform for innovation and entrepreneurship.

There are now 36 high-level research institutions in the technology innovation center in northeast Changchun and six companies have successfully registered.

The platform for the modern industry technology research center affiliated to Jilin University was recently completed.

The zone has also made progress in terms of incubating technology companies, optimizing market systems of the technology market and improving the local financial service system.

It sets up the first technology bank in Changchun, which particularly provides financing services to high-tech companies.

To create and maintain an attractive environment for professionals in 2014, the district took steps to help people who live and work in the area.

The local government set a scheme to better understand and help people by establishing communication channels on social networking systems Wechat and Tecent QQ to get a better idea about their lives.

The government also worked to build a platform for entrepreneurs to communicate with each other. Public working and meeting spaces for entrepreneurs, similar to the Garage Cafe in Beijing, were set up and offer talks on topics such as finance and law.

The local government helped entrepreneurs with policy support.

In 2014, the district applied for 285 national and provincial level patent projects and received 390 million yuan in financial support. The hightech zone conducts regular health checks for people working there and organizes regular sports activities.

According to Xu Han, deputy director of the organizing committee for Changchun, the district's goal for 2015 is to adjust the demand for talents based on the city's development pattern.

He said this would make the district a more competitive area in attracting professionals from both home and abroad.

The media center of the Changchun National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone contributed to this story.
