Jilin spends really big on world trade centers

2015-06-05

In Jilin province, the Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture says they will be adding two world trade centers, one in the city of Yanji, the other in Hunchun, and have already held a signing ceremony for the projects at the Yanbian Hotel, in Yanji, on May 30.

The two trade centers, which come in response to China's new Changchun-Jilin-Tumen economic belt strategy and Yanbian's further opening up, are the work of the China Enterprise Confederation, World Trade Center Association’s Beijing Office, and the local government.

The Yanji project will cost 3.2-billion yuan ($516 million) and cover a 300,000-square–meter space, to handle international business functions, with a Sino-Korean ethnic component, for a grand urban complex that is expected to be completed in three years. The one in Hunchun, costing 3.8-billion yuan, will cover 400,000-sq-m and will feature Tumen River characteristics.
