The first private aircraft club opened in Tianjin

The first private aircraft club "Ziyou Feixiang" was opened at Tianjin Douzhuang airport on July 12, Xinhuanet.com reported on July 16.

It is the first aircraft club based at Tianjin Douzhuang airport to give flying enthusiasts the chance to fly and get a private pilot’s license. .

Douzhuang airport is located on the south side of Tianjin Binhai new district. There are 11 light fixed-wing aircraft and seven helicopters in the hangar, including a Robinson R44 and R22, an Augusta 109 helicopter, as well as Cessna and Tacnam series aircraft. Douzhuang airport is the first private capital investment airport authorized by the air force and the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Douzhuang airport covers about 133 acres. The length of the runway is about 600 meters and the width is about 30 meters. The flight training area covers about 1,200 square kilometers. With the approval of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the company is qualified to take air tours and train private pilots. More than 20 people have been getting their private pilots' licenses since November, 2013.

There is one 17-year-old student taking the record for holding the youngest private pilot’s license. According to Dou Ruchao, the manager of the club, the fee for training and getting a private helicopter’s pilot license is about 35,000 dollars and for light fixed-wing aircraft a license is about 26,000 dollars.
