Comment on "US 'wrong' to blame China for own woes" (China Daily, June 18)

China's trade with the international community benefits itself and the countries it trades with. True, loosening-up policies and help from foreign companies did help China's economy greatly. But let's just look at the recent world financial crises. China went through it relatively unhurt compared with many Western countries. This shows that China is not as dependent on Western countries as many Westerners may believe.

China is greatly developing its domestic market and service industry (once a country moves to a more service-based industry, from being manufacturing-based, it is generally becoming more first-world). Soon, the country will export many Chinese brands instead of just "Made in China" products for foreign brands.

In the end, it's common economic sense that the West help China (just as China helped them out in the process). It's a mutually beneficial relationship. Yet, they definitely did not "build China." China's business dealings with foreign countries is largely a mutual relationship for all countries involved.
