Comment on "Beijing braces for more sweltering weather this week" (July 26, China Daily)

It's difficult to imagine the temperature in Beijing could rise so high because it's located in the north. The heat in Beijing these days is just the same as that in South China?

Despite that, I guess Beijing is a rich city, and most of its residents can afford to install an air-conditioner at home and avoid the sweltering weather. And since most of them work in companies where air-conditioners and other cooling devices are available, the only time they may feel the heat is when they walk or take a non-air-conditioned public transport.

Hence, the weather has little chance of making people in Beijing feel really uncomfortable.
