Main cables finished for Aizhai suspension bridge
Aizhai Extra Large Suspension Bridge over the Jishou-Chadong Expressway officially finished construction of its main cable, in Central China’s Hunan province, Oct 20, 2010. Crossing Dehang Grand Canyon, the bridge has a main span of 1,176 meters, the longest suspension bridge in the world so far. As a key section of the expressway, the Aizhai suspension bridge includes the standard bi-directional four-lane motorway, with the design speed reaching 80 kilometers per hour and a base of 24.5 meters wide.
