Tech event driven by creative vehicles

Hong Tonglong, one of the students who helped assemble the car, said they spent one year and about 4,000 yuan ($600) on the car. Hong said the car, which weighs less than 50kg, was made out of a motorcycle engine and about 1,000 other parts. A solar-powered scooter was also part of the event. The two-seat vehicle can run four to five hours on a sunny day, with a maximum speed of 40 kilometers per hour, according to Jiang Meng, a teacher.
