Environmentalist tours China with 'earth car'

Jiang Guishan, an environmental protection volunteer, drives his “earth car” with a huge tellurion attached to its trunk during a driving tour of China to publicize environmental protection, on a street in Chengdu city, capital of Southwest China’s Sichuan province, Sept 5, 2011. The huge tellurion, measuring 2 meters in diameter weighing 300 kilograms, was made by Jiang himself with a steel structure covered by wood and painted with the map of the world. Jiang sleeps on a bed inside the tellurion during his tour. Jiang started his driving tour around China in Wenzhou, East China’s Zhejiang province in 2007 and has traveled to 230 cities across 22 provinces. He said he will continue his tour to the rest of China, including Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, and conclude the tour in Beijing before June 5, 2012.[Photo/CFP]
