Painter captures traditional streets for posterity

Deng Gang paints a traditional street in Changsha, Hunan province, on Sept 1, 2011. Deng, a 43-year-old artist who was raised and born in Changsha, began to paint traditional streets scenes and architecture in Changsha during the mid-1990s to preserve their memory, as traditional architecture is gradually disappearing due to developments using new architecture in the city. Deng has finished more than 100 pictures and had an exhibition in 2009, which was said to act as a reminder for people. [Photo/Xinhua]
