Ethic rural band brings tune to remote village

Members of a rural band play musical instruments during a rehearsal in Xiangfen village, Xiangfen town in Miao autonomous county, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Oct 24, 2011. Established in 1970s, the band has developed from six members playing only erhu (a traditional Chinese two-stringed bowed musical instrument) and flute, to 12 members from six ethnic groups playing a variety of instruments including a drum set and electronic organ. The band is comprised of middle and old aged farmers ranging from 48 to 68 years old, and plays revolutionary and popular songs, even composing songs themselves, which has won the group many fans among the local people, including those from other towns.
