A big heart for a small soul

Chen Jingde places slippers on his wife's tiny feet at their rundown home in Luojiang district in Quanzhou, East China's Fujian province, Nov 25, 2011. Life has been tough for the couple. Little Chen Weijin is just 80 centimeters tall making it difficult for her to do numerous labor tasks. Her husband Chen Jingde delivers replacement water cooler containers and liquid gas bottles on a makeshift pedicab. But they survive largely on the minimum living subsidy of 600 yuan ($94) from the local government every three months. The couple has a 25-year-old son who is 1.7 meters and is a migrant worker in Hubei province. The mother says her biggest wish is that her son comes back early for Spring Festival. [Photo/CFP]
