Adopted son remains by mother's side

Yang Shuxiang, right, takes her adopted son Yang Shaolin, nicknamed Dabao, for a walk in Harbin, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, Feb 14, 2012. Yang, a retired worker at Harbin railway station, had picked up 21 abandoned infants and homeless children during her work. Thirteen of them were sent to welfare homes and seven returned to their parents. Yang found Dabao in October 1979 and adopted him one year later after failing to find his parents. Dabao was diagnosed with epilepsy and congenital brain dysplasia, and Yang has been taking care of him alone since her husband died of cancer in 2006. [Photo/Xinhua]
