Weihai to create more opportunities for cultural industries

The signing ceremony of Weihai key cooperation projects in cultural industries and unveiling ceremonies of Weihai cultural industry public service platforms and creative art zones were held on Sept 16.

As an important activity of the 2018 China Korea (Weihai) Culture and Creative Industries Expo Fair, 15 projects were signed with a potential investment of 1.63 billion yuan ($237 million).

The chairman of the South Korean Actors' Association, representative of the South Korean Actors' Association Cooperation project, said that more exchanges and cooperation with Weihai in cultural fields would be rolled out. He added that he plans to carry out more exchanges with Nanhai district of Weihai and 200 actors will come to Weihai next year to have an exchange conference with Chinese actors.

Zhang Jianhui, leader of the Weihai Cultural Exchange Association, said that the association will coordinate domestic enterprises and related organizations to enhance cooperation with South Korea. Talents of South Korea, as well as domestic projects, are welcome to settle down in Weihai, Zhang added, which he hopes will promote the development of the Weihai film and television industry.

Furthermore, lists of 16 Weihai cultural industry public service platforms and the first batch of 49 creative art zones were unveiled at the ceremony. All these companies and associations would cooperate with related projects to boost the innovative construction of Weihai.
