The 'Mean Girls' actress - who has been in the country since Wednesday (09.12.09) to make a documentary about the trafficking of women and children for the BBC - says her work is already making a difference and is thrilled to see the impact it is having.

She tweeted: "Over 40 children saved so far... Within one day's work. This is what life is about... Doing THIS is a life worth living!!!

"traffiking is a big issue here, I'm doing what I can, and I will continue to do so as long as life when time permits it (sic)."

Lindsay - who wants to remove herself from her partying lifestyle in Los Angeles - has also urged her fans and fellow stars to help vulnerable people all over the world.

She said: "Keep telling people about what's going on in all 2nd and 3rd world countries and people will want to help too.

"Focusing on celebrities and lies is so disconcerting, when we can be changing the world one child at a time. Hope everyone can see that."

The 23-year-old star - who will fly out of India on Saturday (12.12.09) - plans to continue her good deeds by teaming up with local hospitals to give toys to sick children.
