President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge has prefaced the 3rd issue 'One World, One Dream' of the Civilization Magazine.

"On 8 August 2008, the people of Beijing and China will invite the world's citizens to celebrate 'One World, One Dream'," Rogge wrote in the preface of the issue, which belongs to a special "Olympic Series" dedicated to Beijing Olympics.

"This will be the first time that China has hosted the Olympic Games, and this historic occasion will be a landmark in the rest of the world's discovery of this wonderful and fascinating country...

"This greater exposure of China to the world will undoubtedly help promote increased openness and understanding over the coming years. Under the leadership of its President, Liu Qi, and with the support of the Chinese people, the Beijing Organizing Committee (BOCOG) is preparing Olympic Games of a very high quality with a special Chinese flavour.

"I am now looking forward to seeing that day when Beijing will welcome the athletes of the world for a unique celebration of 'One World, One Dream'," he wrote.

The second issue of the series 'Olympics and China' was published in August last year.
