LONDON, Oct 31 - France's Sylvain Guintoli will move up to MotoGP from the 250cc class next season as Tech 3 Yamaha's second rider, the team said on Tuesday.

Guintoli joins Japan's Makoto Tamada, who is moving from Konica Minolta Honda, at a team owned and run by Frenchman Herve Poncharal.

"It's a dream come true for me to finally step up to the MotoGP class," said Guintoli, 24, in a statement. He raced an Aprilia in this year's 250cc championship.

He has made one start in the top category, with Tech 3 in the 2002 Czech Grand Prix after joining them as a test rider.
