Retired world champion Michael Schumacher has now signed an agreement to feature in the comic-book movie 'Asterix and Obelix at the Olympic Games'.

After earlier this year denying that his appearance was guaranteed, whispers from the filming of the movie in Spain now suggest that Schumacher will indeed star in the film alongside football's similarly retired Zinedine Zidane.

Filming will finish in two weeks, with Schumacher - who made his movie debut with a voice-over for the animation 'Cars' - tipped to travel to the city of Alicante in the coming days.

A fellow Asterix actor is quoted in the Spanish press as revealing that Schumacher is set to appear in 'several scenes' although he said he did not know when the German would arrive.

The film's budget is estimated at up to US$100m.
