American teenager Marco Andretti, grandson of former Formula One champion Mario, will have a second test with Honda next week, the team said on Friday.

The 19-year-old, runner-up in last year's Indy 500 race, had his first taste of Formula One at Jerez in southern Spain in December.

Honda said Andretti would drive last year's RA106 car in Jerez on February 7 and 8.

"We were impressed with Marco during his first test with our team and he performed well in the short time he had in the car," said sporting director Gil de Ferran in a statement.

"Given the potential that he has demonstrated and the availability of last year's RA106, we saw Jerez as a great opportunity to put him back in the car," added the Brazilian.

Andretti, son of former CART champion Michael, said he was looking forward to his second chance.

"I felt that I did a good job in December but on the first day you spend more time getting used to the car and familiarising yourself with the circuit," he said.

"When I get in the car this time, I am sure I will be able to hit the ground running."
