The Nuerburgring Grand Prix circuit is to honour Michael Schumacher by naming a turn after the seven-times world champion, German media reported on Monday.

"Michael Schumacher will be here at the Grand Prix on July 22 for the dedication of the Schumacher-S," circuit boss Walter Kafitz was quoted as saying.

Schumacher himself, speaking to the Cologne Express newspaper, said he was delighted.

"To have this corner at my home track named after me is a great honour," said Schumacher, who retired at the end of last season.

According to the reports, Schumacher will be the first to drive through the renamed turn when he does a lap of honour.
