Britain's Anthony Davidson is confident his injured back will not give him any problems in Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix even though he has not fully recovered from the injury.

The Super Aguri driver was taken to hospital after last month's Formula One season-opener in Australia when he damaged his back during the race in a collision with Spyker's German rookie Adrian Sutil.

"It hammered me," said Davidson, who took part in last week's test at the Sepang track. "I knew I was in trouble when it happened, but the adrenaline was up and I was determined to get to the end of the race.

"I was in massive pain. I was in hospital until two am - that's long enough for me.

"I met up with Mark Webber in Australia a week after the race and he referred me to this really good physio he knew and he improved things quite a lot," added the Briton.

"It's still not 100 percent. I can still feel it, but last week I could still drive with it so it's not going to be a problem here."
