Over 30 teams enter Athletes Village at Bangkok Universiade

BANGKOK,  -- Mexico, Ukraine and Spain were the latest entries of the Athletes Village of the 2007 World University Games here on August 5.

Over 30 teams have already entered the Athletes Village located in the campus of Thammasat University, and more teams are coming in the following three days before the start of the sports gala on Wednesday.

The organizing committee announced that about 160 teams from the world will participate in the 11-day Games from August 8-18.

Kanit Peachavanish, Vice-Major of Athletes Village, presented a pack of CDs of the anthem of the Games, a golden dish and a key model to every team leader of the delegation on the flag-raising ceremony at the front gate of the main stadium.

The Chinese team is expected to hoist its flag in front of a statue of the Naga-King of Serpents, a distinguished symbol at the main stadium, on Tuesday.
