Driver drags creditor 500m to avoid payment

Debtors and creditors may play a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game in movies, but this time the drama took place in real life.

A creditor, surnamed Sun, came across his debtor, surnamed Ren, who had been missing for several months, at a car wash in Zhenjiang, East China's Jiangsu province on March 10. Sun rushed to Ren's car to demand payment and the latter, startled into action, started the car while Sun's hands were still grabbing onto the car's door, yangtse.com reported.

Sun was dragged for more than 500 meters on the road while Ren drove at 80km/h, ignoring several red lights, crossing over line markings and even running into another car at a crossroad.

Luckily, Sun survived with only slight injuries. Sun was eventually dropped off by Ren on the sidewalk, after Ren pled with Sun to let him off this time and promised to give the money back in the future.
