MEXICO CITY - A crime gang clashed with local residents in the southern Mexican state of deGuerrero on Saturday, leaving five people dead, local police said.
The crime gang members arrived at the town of Zirandaro on Saturday morning, claiming to kill a local resident, one of their enemies, said Erik Montufar, a local policeman, noting some of the resident's relatives then picked up weapons and a gunfight between the two sides lasted for hours.
Automatic rifles of AK-47 and AR-15 were used in the exchange of fires, and the identification of the dead, including a teenager, was underway, said Montufar.
