Strong quake hits northern Philippines: report

MANILA - A magnitude-6.1 quake stroke the northern Philippines Tuesday, government sesismologists were quoted by AFP as saying.

The quake's epicenter was traced at 130 kilometers north-northeast of Tuguegarao city on Luzon island, the report said.

No casualties were reported yet.

The USGS sesismologists put the depth of the quake at 29 kilometers, and reported a magnitude of 5.8.
