TEHRAN - Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Force Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said on Wednesday that the United States has not the capability to start a war with the "powerful" Islamic Republic of Iran, the official IRNA news agency reported.

Pourdastan lashed out at remarks made by the US Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Mike Mullen who said on Sunday that the United States has a plan in place to attack Iran if necessary.

"Military actions have been on the table and remain on the table" for curbing Iran's nuclear ambition, Mullen told NBC's" Meet the Press."

The Iranian forces are in full readiness to confront the enemy on ground, in the air and in the sea, Pourdastan said, noting any attack against the country can be faced with a crushing response.
