2010 IPC World Championships bid process commences

Following a call for expressions of interest to host the 2010 IPC World Championships in Athletics, Powerlifting, Shooting, Swimming and Wheelchair Dance Sport, several cities from around the world have submitted the application questionnaire to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The applicants by Championships are as follows:

2010 IPC Shooting World Championships

Sheffield, Great Britain

2010 IPC Wheelchair Dance Sports World Championships

Hong Kong, China

The IPC is currently reviewing the submitted material and will be selecting the eligible candidates to continue in the formal bid application process, commencing at the end of January 2007. The IPC Management Team and the respective IPC Sport Technical Committees will be the primary bodies conducting the bid review and preparing the analysis documentation for the IPC Evaluation Commission. The Commission will recommend to the IPC Governing Board the preferred bid, who will then award the 2010 World Championships no later than September 2007.
