The Zhanjiang-based Guangdong Ocean University took the spotlight at the Fifth Pak-China Business Forum held in Lahore, Pakistan from March 19 to 22, with nine scientific and technological projects leaving a deep impression on those in attendance.
Pakistan hopes to boost the development of its marine economy through closer cooperation with Zhanjiang universities on marine subjects and trade, said an official from the country's investment department, after he visited the nine projects.
Pakistan is located along the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative and this year marks the 65th anniversary of friendship between the two countries.
The Zhanjiang government has always attached great importance to the national initiative and the city's Lingnan Normal University was approved to establish the Confucius Class in Minsk last year, capital of The Republic of Belarus, adding new contributions to the national strategy.
Experts say that the participation in the forum will expand the reputation of Zhanjiang universities to a wider audience across the world and lay a firm foundation for future cooperation between the city and Pakistan.
