Tianjin University (TJU) established a division of medicine on April 14 to implement the Healthy China strategy and improve people's health standards.

The division is a multi-discipline, multi-level educational framework, including both educational organizations like the Institute of Foundational Medicine and clinical sites like affiliated hospitals and teaching hospitals.
The integration is aimed at strengthening local and national comprehensive reform of new medical development in the education, science and technology sectors.

"Tianjin University's Division of Medicine will improve the standard of Tianjin's medical education as well as its health care," he added.
Ming Dong, director of the Tianjin University Medicine Construction Office, reported the division construction from the four aspects of background, history, future plans and key responsibilities.
He said the division will move forward in innovative medical research, talent training, first-class university construction and healthy China provision by forming a "Medicine plus X" cross-discipline union with other schools and departments of the TJU.

He said that this new division enables TJU to jump into a new era of medicine construction, and is in accordance with building a first-class university, top disciplines and promoting China's new medical development.

TJU's efforts in medicine construction have lasted for almost a century. Liu Ruihen, founder of China's Trauma Medicine and China's modern public health affairs, graduated from here 100 years ago.
