A giant national flag is seen on the red beach in Panjin, Northeast China’s Liaoning Province Sept 14, 2009. Soldiers of a border detachment in Panjin place five yellow stars on the beach to form a Chinese national flag to send wishes to P.R. China’s 60th anniversary of establishment. The sea-blite plants living in the 60-sq km mud flat of Panjin start to grow in every April or May. The color is green at the beginning, and turns red gradually. In September, the color of the plants becomes strong red, covering the whole alkaline beach. [Xinhua]
