Washington: Happy exchange

George Washington University President Steven Knapp holds a book received during a gift exchange on Wednesday with Xu Lin, director general of Hanban, the Beijing-based organization that administers the Confucius Institute program on behalf of China's Education Ministry. GWU's is the first Confucius Institute in the District of Columbia. Plans call for the institute, through its partnership with China's Nanjing University, to train professionals from the US government and international organizations in Washington in Chinese language and culture. Boston: Educators engage
