Tongrentang opens first store in Geneva
China's traditional Chinese medicine giant Tongrentang opened its first store in Geneva to offer convenient Chinese therapy and promote development of Chinese medicine in Europe.
Tongrentang Chinese Medicine, the time-honored brand, is known for its high-quality handmade products for 188 years in China.
The opening ceremony attracted a lot of local citizens and international tourists by offering free workshops on traditional Chinese medicine science. Customers can enjoy Chinese healing services such as acupuncture, manipulation and cupping, the staff members said.
Acupuncture and manipulation are therapies that stimulate and massage acupoints through certain kinds of needles and hands, while cupping involves doctors burning air out of cups and placing the cups on the skin, which can reactive the muscles and vessels through heat and pressure.
Christian Pauleto, an official with the Swiss Confederation, said he is willing to help Tongretang adjust to foreign laws and environment.
Tongrentang now has 130 overseas shops in 26 countries, helping more people use Chinese medicine.
