Polish art festival's tour of China draws to a close

The Polish Circles of Art in China Festival wrapped up in Beijing with a concert held at the Beijing Concert Hall on Dec 20, featuring Chinese violinist Chen Xi and Polish pianist Grzegorz Niemczuk.
The two musicians performed repertoire including Chopin's Etude in C Major Op 10 No 1, Wojciech Kilar's Polonaise from the movie Pan Tadeusz, and Chinese composer Wang Jianzhong's Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon.
Now in its second year, the annual art festival opened at the end of November and visited several Chinese cities, including Beijing, Changsha, Wuhan and Jinan, featuring a variety of including film screenings, forums, workshops and concerts.
According to Wojciech Majewski, chairman of the Polish Circles of Art Foundation, more cultural exchanges, especially programs among young people from the two countries, will be introduced in 2018.
Launched in 2016 by the Ministry of Culture of Poland, the festival is a state-level cultural program, which was set up after Polish President Andrzej Duda's visit to China in 2015 and Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Poland in 2016.
