On Sunday, a special New Year's party was held in the First Affiliated University of Harbin Medical University in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province.

50 children suffering from leukemia were invited to the corridor of the hematopathology department, where a meeting place had been festooned with decorations and cartoon balloons.

"To avoid infection, the children have to be under quarantine during the treatment," said Li Limin, director of the inpatient ward. "Therefore, we chose the corridor in order to provide them a chance to play together with their peers."

Doctors, nurses and the children gave wonderful performances, which made the audience quite excited and happy.

They waved their arms with the music and smiles could be clearly seen on their faces, even under their masks.
