Inner Mongolia to add two intl air routes in mid-2018

Xinhua | Updated: 2018-03-29 17:13

HOHHOT - Hohhot, capital of north China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, plans to add two international air routes by the middle of this year, the region's civil aviation airport group said Thursday.

One route linking Hohhot with Moscow will be operated twice a week using a wide-body aircraft, while the other connecting the city with Singapore will run three times a week.

Both services are expected to be launched in June, according to Yao Heng from Hohhot Baita International Airport. More details on the operation are being discussed with relevant airports.

Yao said the Hohhot-Moscow air route is a result of growing exchanges between Russia and Inner Mongolia in recent years, and the new service is expected to facilitate football fans to visit Russia for the upcoming FIFA World Cup this year.

Hohhot Baita International Airport currently operates four regular international air routes to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand, and Nha Trang in Vietnam.
