Century-old ferry landing bids farewell

After serving passengers for over 100 years, a State-owned ferry landing in Southwest China's Sichuan province ended its service on Sunday.
Ferry service in Baiguo in Jintang county of Chengdu connected a number of villages and towns and transported tens of thousands of local residents living on the two sides of the Tuojiang River. Passenger service has been free since 2013.
As a residential airpark is being built in Baiguo town, and a bridge linking the two sides of the river opened last year, the ferry landing has finished its mission.
