Beijing Guoan top of CSL after 3-2 win at Tianjin Quanjian
BEIJING - Beijing Guoan beat Tianjin Quanjian 3-2 to climb to the top of the Chinese Super League with 28 points on Sunday.
Brazilian striker Renato Augusto opened the scoring for Guoan in the 40th minute. Yu Dabao netted another two minutes later, while Cedric Bakambu from the Democratic Republic of the Congo scored the third goal for Guoan in the 56th minute.
Tianjin Quanjian began to fight back after Yang Xu scored in the 76th minute, and Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato netted in the 82nd minute.
Also on Sunday, Shanghai Shenhua drew 2-2 with Henan Jianye. Zhang Lu's header broke the deadlock for Shenhua in the 24th minute, but Brazilian forward Fernando Karanga's header equalized for Henan five minutes later.
In the second half, Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin scored for Shenhua to make it to 2-1, but Karanga got his second of the game in the 76th minute to equalize again.
Elsewhere, Guangzhou R&F drew 1-1 with Guizhou Hengfeng, while Hebei China Fortune and Jiangsu Suning played out a 0-0 draw.
