Sino-Indian joint military training to be held
China and India will resume the seventh “Hand-in-Hand” joint military training session, China's Ministry of National Defense said on Nov 29.
The event will be held in Chengdu City in Southwest China's Sichuan province from Dec 10 to 23. Each side will send 100 participants to take part in the training session, covering adaptive training, basic training, firing practice and so on.
The ministry spokesperson said the joint military training session aims to promote mutual trust and improve anti-terrorism capabilities, and also stressed that as the name of the training implies, the two militaries will work hand in hand to create greater benefits for people from both sides.
The exercises began in 2007, but the seventh joint training session was suspended due to last year's border standoff between the two countries in China's Donglang area.
