Over 240 billion yuan of tech on exhibit

New technologies devised to bring people better quality of life were this week showcased in Foshan, South China's Guangdong province.

About 220 companies exhibited over 800 products and nearly 250 projects at the fourth Exposition for Investment and Trade of Advanced Equipment Manufacturing, held on the west bank of the Pearl River.

The estimated total investment on display was 242.83 billion yuan ($35.25 billion), with 65 projects considered to be worth more than 1 billion yuan.

About 16 deals in the robot, new energy vehicles and high-end medical equipment industries were signed at the opening ceremony of the three-day event, which started on Monday.
