Mania for KAWS x Uniqlo tees: Fast fashion brand finds Midas touch in China

"The output of the UNIQLO UT line is very large," Li Xin, product planning director at street wear fashion e-commerce platform YOHO! said. "Uniqlo is a fast-moving consumer goods company; it is hard for it to adopt sales limitation, so the final price should fall."

As a response to the onslaught of customers, Uniqlo said on Tuesday afternoon the company thanks the mass of shoppers for their love and support for the KAWS collection and will summarize market conditions and make plans for the next step according to specific needs, a paper.cn report said.

This is not Uniqlo's first collaboration with KAWS. Their collection T-shirts were released for the first time as early as in 2016, which achieved a sales volume of 500,000 pieces in a week and nearly a million in a month, the report by dtcj.com said.
