Lucy Hawking, a science educator, talked about her popular science series, The Adventures of George — Journeys across the Universe with Lucy & Stephen Hawking, and shared with the audience inspiration from her father. The first five books in the six-part series were co-authored by Lucy and Stephen Hawking, and the last book was written by Lucy after her father passed away in 2018.

In the Q&A section, many children expressed their interest in science and astronomy, and interacted with the speakers. Jane and Lucy encouraged them to be people with ideas, responsibilities and courage who can take the challenges in the scientific world in the future.

The event was the latest in the series of Shanghai Popular Science Lectures hosted by the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, which has invited more than 200 scientists to share their ideas and knowledge with more than 30,000 people in the past 123 lectures.
