Crayfish 'monarchs' earn royal sum at auction

The "king" and "queen" of crayfish were recently sold for 220,000 yuan via an online auction.
During an online crayfish festival held in Qianjiang city, Central China's Hubei province, the price for the 165.7-gram crayfish "king" reached 109,601 yuan ($15,823.4) and the 163.5-gram "queen" sold for 109,901 yuan.
With the help of developed logistics, customers in more than 800 cities enjoy fresh crayfish produced in Qianjiang, one of China's major producers, within 48 hours.
Sales volume of crayfish is expected to reach 8 billion yuan this year.
