Dow dives over 500 points amid deepening concerns over economic recession

NEW YORK -- US stocks traded sharply lower on Wednesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbling more than 500 points, or around 1.9 percent, as the market was sunk by broad angst over an impending economic recession.
