FDI into Chinese mainland up 6.5% to 683.21 billion

Foreign direct investment into the Chinese mainland grew 6.5 percent year-on-year to 683.21 billion yuan ($96.4 billion) in the first nine months of this year, the Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday.
A total of 30,871 new foreign-funded enterprises were founded in the January-September period,according to the ministry's data.
In September alone, FDI amounted to 79.18 billion yuan, up 3.8 percent year-on-year, the data showed.
