HANGZHOU - The Liangzhu ancient city ruins park in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, has been fully covered by the 5G network as major mobile operators in the country on Thursday switched on commercial 5G services.

Visitors now can enjoy a faster mobile internet connection in all venues and tourist routes in the park.

Facilities and applications featuring cutting-edge technologies have been placed in the park, including a 5G-plus-AR (augmented reality) dressing mirror and a 5G-plus-MR (mixed reality) holographic display of cultural relics.

It will make the park smarter and provide an immersive experience for visitors, according to the Liangzhu Site Administration.

Chen Shoutian, deputy head of the administration, said the 5G network coverage will inject vitality into the protection and inheritance of the cultural relics.

The Liangzhu ruins, located in Zhejiang Province, have gained the world's recognition as a testimony to the existence of at least 5,000 years of Chinese civilization. They were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in July.
