National Theatre Live to screen plays across the world

National Theatre Live will broadcast world-class theatre to cinemas in the UK and around the world. In collaboration with ATW Culture, a Beijing-based leading distributor of filmed theatrical content in China, eight live performances, including comedy, Present Laughter, featuring Andrew Scott, and Terence Rattigan's devastating masterpiece, The Deep Blue Sea, will be broadcast in Chinese cities in 2020.
Besides, nearly 60 latest stage productions from international theaters will be screened at cinemas across the country. Highlights will include Royal Shakespeare Company's The Taming of the Shrew, Measure For Measure, Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake and Romeo And Juliet.
The Bolshoi Ballet in Cinema will broadcast its timeless classics and audience favorites, including Le Corsaire, Swan Lake and Giselle.
According to ATW Culture, since the project was launched in 2015, 124 stage productions have been broadcast in Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, attracting over 500,000 audiences.
